Several PR&T runners decided to share a great
experience with Richard Cozart one day! Richard has run
just about everywhere imaginable but had never run the
Garden of Eden. This 4 mile trail is about a mile and a
half north of Bristol, Florida on Hwy 12. It is part of the
Nature's Conservancy. That is great for trail hikers,
runners and bird watchers. These trails traverse the bluffs
and ravines above the Apalachicola River.
To preface this run consisting of a good degree of
difficulty... Richard turns 79 in October! This day, we ran
the new Blountstown Greenway trail, which is about 7
miles long and then, after replenishing our fluids, headed
to the Garden of Eden. Richard ran about 8 miles with us
much younger runners and did well.
We ran these great trails and then as if it were meant to
be, a lone hiker just happened to be at the highest point
on the trail and took this great photo overlooking the
beautiful Apalachicola River Basin. If you want a great trail
experience, take someone to the Garden of Eden trails.
